Reverend Doctor Jonathan Z. Queen
The Greater First Baptist Church is blessed to be led by Rev. Dr. Jonathan Queen, whose leadership is rooted in faith, prayer, and a deep commitment to the Word of God. Under his pastoral guidance, the church remains focused on spiritual growth, sound biblical teaching, and faithful service.
Working alongside dedicated church leadership, Pastor Queen helps guide the congregation in worship, discipleship, and meaningful ministry within the church and the surrounding community. Leadership at Greater First is united in purpose, seeking to honor God while nurturing the spiritual well being of every member.

First Lady Rev Lenia Queen
The Greater First Baptist Church is blessed by the ministry and leadership of First Lady Rev. Lenia Queen, whose life and service reflect a deep commitment to faith, family, and spiritual care. Her ministry is rooted in compassion, wisdom, and a heartfelt desire to see individuals and families grow in wholeness through Christ.
Working alongside pastoral and church leadership, First Lady Queen supports the spiritual well being of the congregation through encouragement, mentorship, and service. Her calling emphasizes emotional health, relational strength, and faith centered care that nurtures the life of the church and the broader community.
Grounded in prayer and guided by a holistic approach to ministry, First Lady Queen’s leadership strengthens the church’s mission to build healthy families and a thriving, faithful congregation that reflects God’s love in action.

Reverend Robert Hood
Associate Minister
Rev. Robert Hood serves as Associate Minister at The Greater First Baptist Church. Born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia, he was nurtured at the historic New Vine Baptist Church and saved at a young age.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Leadership, University of the District of Columbia (1982); Master's Degree in Biblical Studies, Maple Springs Baptist Bible College and Seminary (2010).
Ministry: Licensed to preach in 2001 and ordained in 2005, Rev. Hood is committed to preaching, teaching, and evangelizing. He has served in various roles including Lay Ministry, Sunday School, Usher Board, and Community Outreach.
Professional Service: Director of Therapeutic Recreation and Acting Chaplain at The Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home, formerly with District of Columbia Special Olympics, Inc.
